The KA24DE is very similar to the KA24E. The only major change is the head design. The KA24E has a Single-Overhead Cam with 3 valves per cylinder, and the KA24DE has Dual-Overhead Cams with 4 valves per cylinder. Other design improvements include the use of a knock sensor, oil injection at the base of each piston, and top-firing spark plugs. In addition to the increased power and torque, the KA24DE has a slightly wider power band than the KA24E.
